Medical Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the key components in traditional Chinese medicine. It involves treatment through the insertion of fine needles into skin at specific points to various depths. It’s believed to be a method of boosting overall well-being and often curing certain illnesses. According to traditional Chinese medicine, health is a result of a well-balanced life force known as ‘qi’ (pronounced ‘chi’) which is comprised of two elements, ‘yin’ and ‘yang’. An imbalance in this force results in illness. Qi flows through the human body along certain paths, and with acupuncture we can access these paths through 350 bodily pressure points. It’s believed that the insertion of needles at these points, using certain protocols, helps reestablish the qi balance.

How does it Work?

Scientists believe that these pressure points are places where muscles, nerves and connective tissues can be stimulated. The stimulation helps release endorphins (natural painkillers) and increase blood flow. This therapeutic method is often used along with massage and chiropractic therapies, and has been proven to be fruitful in treating both chronic and acute painful disorders.

Acupuncture may be used for the following cases:

→ Promoting natural healing

→ Reduction and removal of pain

→ Improving the functions of certain affected areas of the body
